What is an innovation?

What is an innovation? According to Merriam-Websters dictionary, an innovation is “ a new idea, method, or device, or the introduction of something new.”1 While technology is the default for many when it comes to innovation, there are also changes in philosophy, social practices, and political theory that shaped the world in which we live. This assignment asks you to present an argument about which innovation you think had the most significant influence on modern life. Consider than not all innovations are positive, and even those that are have unintended consequences and drawbacks.
This project uses the research and writing skills you developed to create a substantive writing sample on one of the topics listed below by employing critical analysis of primary and secondary sources, with appropriate support and citation. Your research paper should be 4 to 5 pages in length on one of the major Innovations of the World.
This project incorporates multiple steps. In this module, you will submit a rough draft of your paper. This needs to be a complete draft of the assignment. The draft should not be a first draft, it should have all proper citations as needed. In later modules, you will revise your work through the peer review process before submitting a final draft.
