What conclusions can you make about your machine after analyzing your data from the process of creating, revising, & testing it out?

Final Step /Class11 SUBMIT Your Final Scientific Inquiry Paper in APA Format!
1.Title page & Table of Contents
2.Page two Science Inquiry
Open your paper discussing your final reflection which includes:
What is the scientific inquiry process?
What is the benefit of the inquiry-based approach for teaching?
Explain the following processes of inquiry as it relates to your project by talking about what you learned through the process of creating your GM.
Making a prediction
Conducting an experiment
Observing what happens
Making conclusions
Communicating results.
Now we are going to collect data from submitted papers to create your data points. You can copy and paste parts of each paper into the section but then be sure to include your reflection/summary of experiencing this step of the project (reflection part should be a minimum of 1 paragraph- 4-7 sentences long!):
3.Page three Big Ideas
A one page summary of Step 2. This page should include the chart you created with the type of machine, materials needed, 3 questions, 3 hypotheses and the steps you’ll take & intended goal. Then summarize your experiences with this step. Be sure to reference the chart and scientific inquiry!
4.Page four Blueprints
In this section you will discuss the blueprints for your project, the process of creating them, how they helped and what you have learned about this step. Artifacts in this section include photos of your blueprints and label as submitted, the photos of you creating the rube goldberg machine as documented in your blueprints. Be sure to share in this section how the blueprints supported the creation of your project, photos that document the steps of creating and then if the blueprints were a successful tool for creating or not- and why. Be sure to discuss how the Scientific Inquiry Process came into play with the creating of and implementation of your project using the blueprints.
The pictures used in this section should support your summary and be labeled or addressed in the summary (they can be copied and pasted from the submitted paper).
5.Page five Progress of Project/ Peer Review
Minimum of one page include photos and chart as listed below
Discuss the building of your first 2 machines and what happened when you tested them via video. Be sure to include the chart you used to collect data that included the hypothesis success rate, Hypothesis unsuccessful rate, Actual Success rate and Actual Unsuccessful Rate. Summarize what you learned during this process and be sure to include how many times the machines did or did not work and the adjustments that you made to the machines. Share photos from video or from production of your simple machines.
Then discuss the peer review and how it affected the overall outcome of the creation of these first two machines. Did your peers offer feedback that was successful? Helped you reflect and re-evaluate? How did you use this feedback? If you had any issues with the feedback, It is not necessary to list students names, instead focus on how the peer review helped you as a student and your project. This can be copied from your submitted paper and then include a brief reflection to wrap up this section.
6.Page six Back to the drawing board
minimum of one page and photos of materials
This week you went “back to the drawing board” taking into account your test runs and peer feedback. On this page reflect on your machine and how it is working along with the “why” behind adjustments you made or that there weren’t any adjustments necessary. If you adapted your machines, share photos of the adaptations to support your changes.
After adding on the third machine, you were to test out all three machines and take photos. Summarize what you shared in your paper about your successes, any new challenges posed, share your new questions you have and what you learned about your progress this week.
Be sure to share photos!
7. Page seven Reflect, Revise, Collect Data and Making Conclusions’
During this step you’ve now put your final machine in motion and taken a video. Share what happened, what did work or didn’t work and why you got the results that you did. Share what you could add/change, revise to make your machine work more efficiently and what changes you made to the final machine. This can be copied and pasted from your original submission and then be sure to reflect on the process in the final paragraph to this page.
Final Pages- Wrapping up your project:
Explain your Inquiry Project by answering the following questions
What conclusions can you make about your machine after analyzing your data from the process of creating, revising, & testing it out? (Why did you get the results you got? How did you decide what to revise/change? What was the result?)
Explain how the results answered your questions or created new questions
Reflect on why the results turned out as they did by referring to the process of constructing your machines with a specific discussion of your actions
Discuss the benefits of sharing your work with others and receiving feedback from peers. How does it support, challenge or encourage your learning?
Wrap up with your final visual representation/graph/chart with the summary explanation that shows your total learning in from the project (from Class 10)
On the Last page add any Reference/any resources you have used
NOTE: please remember this final paper is done in APA formatting and all steps must be completed as shared here (1 page minimum for each section, pictures where required, reflection, etc.). The only sections that can be copy and pasted from previous submissions are the sections with data points- no other sections should be copy and pasted. Refer to the rubric or email with any questions!
