Topic: Analyze the relationship between fiction and reality, or definitions of what is “real”, in one or two texts. Example question: How does The Velveteen Rabbit represent a child’s-eye-view of the nature of reality or “realness”? What effect does this representation have on the reader?
The goal of this essay is that you write an argument from your position/viewpoint and use direct quotes from the text to support it. It is not a report or a book review, but your views, arguments, and opinions are what matter. You should reference outside sources to contextualize or support the points you make in this essay; 2-3 critical or theoretical sources that help you illuminate (whether through agreement or opposition) part of your argument would be appropriate and, of course, all such sources must be cited.
This essay must be at least 4 full pages and no more than 6 full pages in length. It must be typed, double-spaced, in 12 point Times New Roman font, with 1-inch margins, and a standard MLA heading as well as proper MLA citation.
