The purpose of the Application Assignment is to differentiate professional nursing roles and implications for evidence-based practice, research, the role of leader/manager, and coordination of care across systems. The assignment consists of research of the literature to identify roles and functions of nursing across the degree levels resulting in a (1) Nursing Role and Function Summary Table and (2) references page. (CO7:PO7) and (CO8:PO8).
In preparation for completing a final Nursing Role and Function Summary Table and references page, complete these steps:
Step 1. Access and Review

Conduct a literature and web search related to nursing degree levels and professional roles and functions.
Step 3. Reflect
Reflect on your findings, and organize the results.
Step 4. Create
Create a Nursing Role and Function Summary Table comparing the different roles and functions of nursing across the degree levels and implications in evidence-based practice, research, leader/manager role, and coordination of care across systems.
Step 5. Combine
Combine Steps 3 and 4 in a 1- to 2-page paper (excluding the title and reference pages).
Step 6. Reference
Include a reference page with a minimum of three peer-reviewed journal articles (less than 5 years old).
