Please write an essay (at least 500 words and 5 paragraphs long and abiding by the rules of essay writing that you learned in ENG 101 and ENG 102) on one of the following topics:
Please choose ONE of the following topics and write an original essay abiding by the rules of essay writing (five paragraph minimum with an introductory paragraph including lead-in and thesis statement; three body paragraphs each developing one idea of the thesis with LOTS of supporting details from the work; and a concluding paragraph). The essay topics are as follows: 1) Explain how events, people and places in “Gilgamesh” relate to events in “The Old Testament.” OR 2) Explain how events, people, and places from “The Odyssey” relate to the actual ancient Greek way of life. OR 3) Explain the theme/themes of “Oedipus the King” using details from the work to support your answer. Use research if you deem it necessary and quotes from the works to support your thesis, but DO NOT DO A PLOT SUMMARY!
