Healthcare utilization is an important issue within contemporary US
health care system. There is a need to reduce non-emergent visits to the
ED. Doctoral prepared nurses are uniquely positioned to address the
high utilization of ED. Considering your population of interest, discuss
the issues related to use of ED and some possible evidence based
strategies that may reduce the unnecessary use of the ED.
2) The
payment system is changing in the US from fee-for-service to
pay-for-performance, discuss the differences between the two. What does
it mean to be a pay-for-performance system? Consider your population of
interest and discuss the impact of pay-for-performance on health
outcomes in this population (consider the quadruple aim of healthcare as
a way to guide your discussion).

and find a topic of interest to you and that can be considered for
public health policy. Has this topic been explored to development of
