Dominant and non-dominant groups (the in-group and out-group dynamics we have discussed)

The actual instructions are below. The topic I chose was the financial and family toll of drug addiction. I am attaching the bibliography I turned in with some sources.
Deadlines for Project 3: research project
Submit topic for Project 3 Oct. 24
Submit annotated bibliography Nov. 4
Submit rough draft Nov. 16
Submit final version Dec. 7
For your research project — in MLA style — I would like you to choose a topic from one of the subjects we have touched on in this class:
Environmental Toxins
Drug addiction
Child Poverty
Decline of Journalism
Gun violence or unlawful gun possession
Redlining
Dominant and non-dominant groups (the in-group and out-group dynamics we have discussed)
Within one of these topics, you can choose whatever specific area of interest or subject you want to explore. For instance, if you are a pharmacy major, perhaps you want to do a report on the chemistry of opioid addiction and its effects on personality and motivation. If you have known someone struggling with poverty or food insecurity, perhaps you want to study how chronic hunger affects cognitive development and behavior in children. Or instead of the science involved in these topics, you might be more interested in the criminal side, or sociological aspect of a specific subject within one of the above topics.
Your paper should be roughly five pages and include AT LEAST five sources in your research. These sources should include at least three scholarly journals (which is a filter the librarian showed you on the library’s portal). If you plan on focusing your research on Rochester in some way (which I wholeheartedly encourage), you will only have to include one scholarly journal.
Your research paper will include multiple sources of data, but please remember what we have discussed about communicating data: It is more meaningfully understood and absorbed when it is presented within the context of a human story (such as the story on Maurice Miller in “Disparate Times” that discussed gun violence statistics in Rochester). Wherever possible, please use some sort of storytelling in your assignment, to connect better with your reader.
Speaking of the reader: Other college students are the audience for this assignment.
