*Pretend that you are a professional photographer and you have been commissioned to create a series of 5 photographs – all of the photographs must be about a single Theme. You will select the Theme.
*Theme Categories – Themes can be Realistic or Abstract:

*Lines
*This assignment challenges you to select your 5 best images that reflect what you are trying to say about your Theme.
*For reference, I recommend that you re-read the section in your textbook (ebook) Ch. 1 entitled, “Looking and Responding” (it is toward the end of Ch. 1), the author writes about creating a work of art that includes selecting items appropriate for the “Vanitas” Theme.
*You cannot select the “Vanitas” Theme for this assignment.
PART A
HOW TO GET STARTED: 5 Photographs & Work Sheet Form:
STEP 1 – Brainstorming:
First, you will begin by thinking about what things (Themes) you are interested in – you might make a list, for example: People, Animals, Sports, Exercise, Cars, Travel, Food, Music, Education, Career, Reading, Computers, History, Art, etc.
Take a day or two and think about all the Themes you listed, and then pick the one that your feel most interested in pursuing.
STEP 2 – Photographic Ideas:
A good way to get ideas is to go online and do a search – for example, your favorite theme is “Music” – type in the name of your favorite musician, singer, songwriter, or group. You also might do a search for covers of “Rolling Stone Magazine”.
STEP 3 – Taking Photographs:
Now, you are ready to begin taking your photographs. Select 5 images that will work well with your theme and take several pictures of each image. Then, select the 5 best photographs before submitting your Assignment.
STEP 4 – Fill in Assignment Form & Submit:
Fill in the following “Photography Project & Work Sheet Assignment Form” (Part A), answering the questions about each of your 5 photographs. Submit Part A in Discussion Board on Blackboard Learn.
