ACME Kitchens Company is a relatively small company engaged in producing and selling kitchen cabinets. The company’s main office and distribution center is located in Miami. ACME employs approximately 100 people: 40 office personnel and sales, and 60 warehouse workers and managers. The company currently has one (1) Windows 2008 server used to store all company data, including customers’ information and credit card processing records. The company uses Workgroup network topology. Active Directory is not installed. There are about 60 Windows 10 desktop and laptop computers used by office personnel, sales staff, and managers. Some of the sales staff and other employees are also able to connect to the company server remotely when they are working from home. All employees are allowed access to the Internet anytime from any workstation. There are seven (7) network-connected printers throughout the facility.
Objectives
Windows 2008 Server is over seven years old. Management believes it is time to upgrade the server and redesign the network infrastructure. ACME Kitchens management hired you as a consultant to design and implement new technologies.
You will need to identify the new server deployment procedures and select appropriate server roles and features.
Workstations are NOT part of the upgrade in the first phase of the project. Your report should address only Windows Server 2016 related questions.
