Module 2 Assignment: Equity Perspectives
Instructions
Understanding the perspectives of others is important. Everyone has their own experience that can shade their definition of equity. For this assignment, you will read, view, and listen to the texts linked below that all take a different perspective on educational equity. As you read, view, and listen, take notes on how the speaker is defining equity or not defining it, what it means to them and why it is important or not important. Think about their argument and what points are valid, and how their points contribute to the educational community.
Complete this Equity Perspectives Chart.
The chart should answer this larger question: What does each perspective believe (assume as fact) about equity in education? You will need to make some assumptions/inferences (educated guesses based on close reading/listening) about the beliefs.
Everyone has their own experience that can shade their definition of equity.
